Ostrimark SA was originally established by a number of farmers in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, to market their ostrich products including meat, leather, oil and feathers. In February 2003, these farmers withdrew and the company was bought by a Swiss Group. Ostrimark is still under the same Swiss ownership to date and maintains the company's portfolio.

Ostrimark's portfolio of customers stretches from the USA to Europe to the East. Being a confident global player, the aim of Ostrimark SA is not to be the biggest supplier of ostrich skins in South Africa, but the supplier of choice of top quality crust and fully tanned ostrich leather. We, at Ostrimark, are proud to be the humble artisans of this beautiful and unique leather. We successfully manage our own fully computerized tannery in Grahamstown with exports worldwide.

Ostrimark SA is based in South Africa's university town of Grahamstown, heart of ostrich country in the Eastern Cape province. The town is 120 kilometres north of the Mandela Metropole Bay, Southern Africa's third largest port through which Ostrimark accesses all major international markets by air and sea.

Ostrimark SA's producers are all farmers from the Alexandria and Grahamstown districts where ostrich farming dates back to the early 1900's.
